Requests should be submitted by an authorised officer using an official law enforcement email address or on official agency letterhead.

4. How DateWildly Handles Requests
DateWildly will review requests from law enforcement agencies on a case-by-case basis.
We will:
- Verify the identity and authority of the requesting individual or agency.
- Assess the legal basis, scope and necessity of the request.
- Consider our obligations under applicable UK data protection and privacy legislation, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
- Only disclose information that we are legally permitted or required to provide and that is necessary and proportionate to the request.
- Use appropriate security measures when transferring information.
- Maintain appropriate records of requests received and information disclosed.
DateWildly will cooperate with lawful requests and valid legal orders. We may decline requests that cannot be adequately verified, are unlawful or are insufficiently specific.
5. Emergency Requests
Where a request relates to an immediate threat to life, serious injury, child sexual exploitation or abuse, human trafficking, sexual exploitation or another serious safeguarding concern, law enforcement agencies should clearly identify the emergency and its urgency.
Emergency requests should include:
- The nature of the immediate threat or suspected offence.
- The individual or individuals believed to be at risk.
- The specific information required.
- An explanation of why disclosure is urgently necessary.
- The requesting officer's direct contact details.
DateWildly will prioritise urgent requests and assess whether information can lawfully be disclosed to help prevent harm or protect an individual.
Where there is an immediate danger to life or safety, authorities should also use the appropriate emergency response channels.
6. Preservation of Information
Where DateWildly receives a valid request to preserve information relevant to an investigation, we will consider the request and take reasonable steps to preserve relevant information where legally permitted and technically possible.
Preservation requests should identify the relevant account, information, date range, investigation reference and anticipated legal process.
Preservation of information does not automatically mean that it will be disclosed. Any subsequent disclosure will be assessed separately in accordance with applicable law.
7. User Privacy and Confidentiality
DateWildly takes user privacy seriously.
We will not disclose personal information simply because it has been requested. All disclosures will be assessed against applicable legal requirements, including necessity, proportionality and the appropriate lawful basis for sharing personal data.
Where legally permitted and appropriate, users may be informed that their information has been shared with law enforcement. However, we may withhold notification where legally required or where doing so could prejudice an investigation or compromise an individual's safety.
